Italian firm uses Hexagon CADWorx Solutions for efficiency, accuracy in CAPEX EPC Projects
Italy’s SB SETEC delivers in all project phases from conceptual design through to plant commissioning for clients in a wide range of energy industries.
The company was selected by a large owner operator client to revamp their Sulfolane process plant to improve performance. They found that this project was an ideal opportunity to execute with a “fully digital” approach.
Because the project had time sensitive deadlines and required accuracy, the only way to achieve the tight project would be with laser scanning in combination with 3D plant design. Existing equipment and piping in the plant also had to be taken into account with an error free re-design. How could they ensure easy integration of databases, coordination of different departments and the avoidance of clashes during construction?
CADWorx was selected because of its ease of use and its industry standard DWG-format which allows for easy easily configuration, customization and coordination. CAESAR II, pipe flexibility and stress analysis software enabled them to check the piping design against the relevant codes for the replacement piping installed during the project.
