BIM: The Game Changer Saving You Time

Many industries are finally moving away from relying on 2D documentation and adopting 3D modeling for their design. For the construction of buildings, a BIM (Building Information Management) allows everyone from architects to suppliers, and many more, to use the same 3D model and share the information like never before.

Industries and companies which participate in the construction of buildings and planning can use BIM to improve the communication and interlink the below:

  • Architects
  • Civil Engineering
  • Plant Design
  • Electrical and Plumbing Design
  • Construction
  • Project Management
  • As-Built Modeling
  • Point Cloud

Point cloud is also new to the industry and changing up modeling design, bringing more significant time savings and visibility. Point cloud-based modeling is the process of using a 3D scan to model or remodel a building in CAD software. Remodeling a whole building using a Point Cloud system can be a long process and involve many different disciplines.

When using a BIM solution that can work with point cloud (e.g., BricsCAD BIM), the modeler can update the BIM information as they make progress with the 3D design. Huge times savings can be achieved through utilizing BricsCAD BIM in addition to increasing project awareness and control.

What would you do if you suddenly had extra time on your hands? Take on more projects; do further training; construct your designs differently…
