How HxGN Alix Brings Organizations Enhanced Security with HxGN EAM 12.3

With the release of HxGN EAM 12.3 in November 2025, Hexagon continues to redefine enterprise asset management by enhancing its AI-powered assistant, HxGN Alix. This update introduces a pivotal new feature, a security control checkbox, that gives organizations the ability to manage access to HxGN Alix across their EAM solution, aligning with internal policies and ethical AI standards.
HxGN Alix is accessible directly from the HxGN EAM toolbar, offering real-time assistance on:
-
- Navigating EAM features
- Simplifying code generation
- Advising on industry processes, regulations, and specifications
Built on private Large Language Models (LLMs) hosted internally by Hexagon, HxGN Alix is designed to be a helpful, respectful, friendly, and honest assistant. It supports natural language queries and is tailored to boost the efficiency of EAM users across desktop and mobile platforms.
HxGN Alix also has deep knowledge of AcceleratorKMS, J5 Operator Rounds, OpenCAD, and HxGN EAM Mobile, making it a versatile tool for technical users, system administrators, and implementation consultants alike.
Security and Access Control: A Smarter Way to Enable AI
The newly introduced “Allow AI” checkbox on the User Setup screen gives organizations granular control over who can access HxGN Alix in HxGN EAM. Much like multi-organization security, this feature allows administrators to assign access to specific users, enabling small focus groups to use HxGN Alix for research, testing, and data gathering without compromising broader system integrity. By mirroring the multi-organization security features already available in HxGN EAM, it ensures a seamless and familiar experience for administrators, giving administrators the flexibility to align HxGN Alix usage with their internal policies and governance requirements.
Furthermore, this enhancement reflects Hexagon’s commitment to data privacy and ethical AI. No personal customer information is restored, transmitted, or saved by Hexagon. Feedback submitted through HxGN Alix is entirely voluntary, and no customer data is included in these submissions. This ensures that organizations can confidently leverage HxGN Alix without worrying about data privacy or security risks.
Expanded Knowledge Base and Improved Accuracy
HxGN Alix’s capabilities have grown significantly in this release. The assistant now draws from a broader knowledge base that includes HxGN Databridge Pro and Python Studio, offering users more comprehensive support across Hexagon’s product ecosystem.
The response structure has been refined to improve clarity and accuracy. HxGN Alix now provides guided responses with verified sources, helping users understand whether the information is derived from general LLM knowledge or Hexagon-specific documentation. This transparency builds trust and enhances decision-making.
User Feedback Loop: Driving Innovation with User Feedback
Hexagon understands that innovation is a two-way street, and user feedback is a critical part of improving its tools. In this latest release, HxGN Alix includes a feedback mechanism that allows users to submit comments directly to the HxGN EAM development team. This feedback is an invaluable resource for Hexagon, helping them refine HxGN Alix’s capabilities and better meet the needs of their customers.
Users can now comment on HxGN Alix’s responses, helping Hexagon refine the assistant’s performance. Importantly, this feedback mechanism is secure and anonymous, with no customer data attached.
Looking Ahead: Ethical AI and Enterprise Empowerment
The 12.3 release strengthens ethical and policy guardrails, ensuring HxGN Alix operates within clearly defined boundaries. This includes:
-
- Transparent sourcing of information
- Secure feedback channels
- Controlled access based on organizational policies
These enhancements reflect Hexagon’s broader strategy to empower enterprises with AI that is not only powerful but also responsible and secure. Want to take a closer look at the latest enhancements in HxGN EAM 12.3? Watch the on demand webinar here.
