Exactly Why You Need to Move Forward … Faster

Pandemics take much more time to end than they do to begin.

While we are not yet on the other side of a scourge that impacted every country in the world, many of us can envision returning to normal – well, normal-ish – life. Where individuals sit on this spectrum of normal is largely based on geography and luck.

From the industrial side of things, the ability to return to normal is also tied to preparation and the willingness to step out of the comfort zone.

For companies that had already begun their digital transformation journey or who in the spring of 2020 were able to swiftly digitalize their processes and make them available remotely, their employees were better enabled to keep their plants and facilities up and running.

These companies adapted and were resilient.

However, many of the customers I’ve spoken to have said they wished they’d moved faster. They wished they’d been leveraging their data longer, wished they’d put their data to work sooner.

The audit and advisory firm KPMG fielded a study among U.S. CEOs which revealed that the pandemic hastened digital transformation by months or even years. The move to digitalization has accelerated, and the benefits will be permanent. There is no going back.

The smart companies look at troubling times as opportunities to try new things, to become stronger.

And that’s why I encourage you to take part in HxGN LIVE evolve720 next week when we talk to industry leaders from some of those smart companies as they share how they survived – and thrived – over the past 16 months.

Of particular interest is a panel discussion moderated by Jamie Metzl, who is as knowledgeable about geopolitics, technology and the future as anyone you will ever meet. We’ve selected panel members from three of Hexagon PPM’s biggest industry sectors: oil and gas, processing, and engineering and construction.

Specifically, our virtual conference June 22-23 will host Ola Elmqvist from Tetra Pak (global leader in food packaging); Arturo Bellezza from ENI (Italy’s oil super major); and Keith Churchill from Bechtel (the world’s largest EPC).

You will walk away from these keynotes smarter than when you logged in.

And you just never know what intriguing facts we can surface in our quest to provide the best digital transformation experience for our customers. During evolve720, we will reference the mating habits of South African penguins, the meaning of black swans and the importance of the World Population Clock.

Please join us to see how this all ties together!
