How Intergraph Smart Completions Continues to Support Our Customers

The necessity to work remotely to keep the workforce safe from exposure to the COVID-19 virus is shining new light on the importance of SaaS-based solutions.

Undoubtedly, the current global situation will impact projects, whether they are in the planning or execution phase, and we want to emphasize how Intergraph Smart® Completions can help minimize some of the issues currently being experienced in the construction/handover realm.

We are working with our clients around the world to support continued progress on their projects, as we know that their implementation of Smart Completions can drive uninterrupted planning, preparation and execution of successfully commissioned projects.

How does Smart Completions support you in the CV19 era?

a) It connects your potentially disconnected workforce on a single platform to coordinate planning, work packaging development and consolidated “completions/commissioning,” whether personnel are onsite or at home. In contrast, the on-premise installed completions systems require personnel to be onsite, or log in via a virtual machine (VM) connection, which can be slow and may require acces to other technology. The SaaS solution is simple and only requires an internet connection and browser.

b) It provides mobility to execute offline work, such as downloading work packages for field execution. SaaS-enabled Smart Completions gives field personnel access to all their work – associated reference documents, critical plant data and project-based information – and allows them to then work offline, if they wish. The “mobile sync” process eliminates the need to visit various departments (document control, engineering, construction / commissioning, etc.), and work done remotely can pushed to devices when field personnel log in.

c) It simplifies notifications via the announcement module and streamlines consolidation of project notifications to personnel working onsite or remotely. This keeps everyone informed on the status of projects, CV-19 impact and any changes to procedures that can improve project execution.

d) It continues project development from home for projects in the engineering or early construction phases. The setup of Smart Completions can be performed from the office, onsite or home. With an internet connection, system users can continue to load information, perform systemization tagging, develop work packages, perform baseline resource/MH calculations and fine-tune their Level Five planning efforts. The Smart Completions project communications module will track and simplify queries and change requests.

e) It lets users see projects in execution, even if onsite personnel has been reduced. SaaS-enabled Smart Completions can works with only a tablet. All communications can be done remotely and supported with pictures, so regardless where the user is, project personnel and management can “see” exactly what is going on and provide input without breaking physical distance requirements.

f) It connects systems in different locations. The data exchange module enables companies to automate sharing of engineering information and documentation, regardless if the solutions are installed and running onsite, or in the office with a SaaS-based solution. The DE module enables companies to propagate updated information to the completions system without needing to go into the office. It improves management of change processes and ensures that remote workers are seeing the latest information.

We welcome our customers’ input on how we can further enable their projects’ continued progress. During times like these, we discover new opportunities for innovation and improvement.
