Key Takeaways from 2020 Bricsys Digital Summit

At the end of October, I joined the Bricsys Digital Summit, and it was quite something! Not only was there live bands, insightful presentations and amazing 3D designs, but also the exciting announcement of BricsCAD V21 and a new simplified product line, with the release of BricsCAD Lite and BricsCAD Pro. If you missed the details, don’t worry! Below is a run-through of the new BricsCAD Lite and BricsCAD Pro.

BricsCAD Lite
Formerly BricsCAD Classic, this solution is perfect for 2D drafting work, and it also enables you to automate tasks by customizing your software with the power of LISP built in; this works exactly in the same way as the BricsCAD Pro version. Load your existing LISP routines, and you will see the majority of them running five to 100 times faster than other DWG based software, all thanks to the modern memory management of the BricsCAD engine.

There have been more improvements and development, so if you want to see everything that’s news for BricsCAD Lite V21, check out the release notes.

BricsCAD Pro
This new product absorbs BricsCAD Platinum features, such as all the advanced parametric solid modeling. It also supports those that need to access the hundreds of 3rd party application programs built on BRX API, giving you more power and innovation at your fingertips.

BricsCAD Pro contains a powerful 3D constraint engine and automatic parameterization, giving you more time to work on design. In addition, parametric components and arrays, combined with Bricsys 3D Direct modeling engine, give you the ultimate design freedom you’ve been dreaming of!

The BricsCAD Pro edition also gives you the civil modeling workflow, with automatic TIN surface generation, gradings, corridors, and alignments.

BricsCAD Lite and BricsCAD Pro may be the new kids on the block, but let’s not forget:

  • BricsCAD Mechanical, the best choice for MCAD and all in the DWG format;
  • BricsCAD BIM, for architects and structural engineers with 3D workflows starting and staying in 3D;
  • BricsCAD Ultimate, which combines all the features in BricsCAD ProMechanical, and BIM into a single, all-in-one, DWG based CAD solution;
