Tips & Tricks: 8.7 Removed Admin Screens
The EcoSys 8.7.01 user interface was enhanced to provide a more streamlined admin user experience and to improve configurability. Several screens have been removed as the functionality of most of these screens is accessible in other screens as detailed in the below table. The removed screens were native to EcoSys and could not be modified. In replacing these screens, the goal was to provide the ability to configure in these native subject areas, expand in function and migrate these expansions, in order to improve overall usage. It is important to note that the removed screens can no longer be selected as a panel in a Screen Layout or as a Menu Item in a Menu. These Screens have also been removed from existing Screen Layouts and Menus where they were previously accessible.
As mentioned above, the data previously updated in these removed screens can still be maintained in other screens. In some cases, these alternative maintenance areas are more efficient, allowing for the combination of two separately maintained screens into one single screen.
For example, Custom Field Configuration has changed with the screen modifications in 8.7.01. In previous versions, Custom Fields were first created in the Enterprise Data > Custom Fields dictionary and then added to Custom Field Configuration in the Enterprise Data > Custom Fields Configuration screen. From EcoSys 8.7.01 forward, Custom Field creation and configuration are both accomplished in the screen Enterprise Data > Maintain Custom Fields.
Using the table below, you will be able to navigate to the data from a removed screen in an alternate EcoSys 8.7.01 screen. In the left column are the removed screens and their previous access, and in the right column, you will find the location where the same data can now be accessed in EcoSys 8.7.01.
