What’s New in TANK® 14: Optimizing Storage Tank Design and Analysis for Today’s Standards

Hexagon’s latest release of TANK software brings hands-on upgrades for engineers tackling storage tank design, analysis, and maintenance.
With a mix of practical features and smarter compliance tools, it’s about helping you work faster and more accurately. Here’s what’s new and why it matters.

Code Updates: Keeping You Aligned with API 650 and EN 14015 Standards

One of the biggest highlights in this release is the support for the latest API 650 standard (13th Edition, Errata 1, 2021) and the European EN 14015:2004 standard. For engineers, this means you can meet American and European benchmarks for storage tank compliance without wasting hours on manual checks.

Take Montuotojas, a large engineering firm in the Baltics— recently used TANK to streamline a major oil and gas project. With TANK's built-in compliance tools, the company managed to cut down a process that used to take a week to just a few hours. Instead of worrying about standards, they were able to focus on other crucial project elements.

Improved User Experience: Simplified Input and Visualization

This new update also adds a new ‘Drawing View’ tab, providing a simplified, drawing view of the model including a bill of materials (BOM).

\We’ve also expanded the data input grid, which you can access by sliding the panel to the right. This organized layout makes entering data faster and smoother—ideal for reducing input errors and streamlining your workflow.

It also incorporates a ‘Material Database Editor’ for selecting EN materials, with the possibility to add your own user-defined materials

Why Engineers Choose TANK: Efficiency that Saves Time and Money

TANK continues to do what it does best: providing a streamlined solution for storage tank design and analysis. Montuotojas, for example, found that TANK’s interface and material database saved them hours on every project. What once took a week could now be done in two to four hours. The efficiency gains aren’t just about time, they also translate into direct cost savings and faster project delivery, making TANK a valuable tool in today’s industry.

The latest TANK release is designed to give engineers exactly what they need for compliance, accuracy and efficiency. If you’re looking for a tool that handles both the big and small details of tank design and analysis, TANK is ready to deliver.
